As a twenty-something single bachelor, I had an extremely unhealthy diet, consisting largely of fast food, frozen pizza, chili and chips/cheese. I drank pop with every meal and regularly over-ate. I had gained an average of 10.5 lbs/year since graduating high school. In December 2015, my doctor told me that I (age 26 at the time) was at risk for pre-diabetes and a heart attack. Change needed to happen soon. I knew that simply saying, "I'll start eating less and/or exercising more" was not going to work for me. I needed a regimented program with concrete goals and processes. Some friends recommended Ideal Health, because they had experienced success doing Ideal Protein with them in the past. The day after Easter 2016, I began my life-changing journey.

Lifestyle Building - Losing the weight
After the initial shock of caffeine withdrawal and perceived hunger wore off, my biggest surprise was how quickly I lost the weight. I stuck diligently to the program, and it worked extremely well for me. It only took a few months for me to lose 25-30 pounds and reach my target weight, which I have since maintained for over two years.
Lifestyle Living - Keeping the weight off
After losing the weight, I look better, I feel better, I sleep better. Once I entered Phase 4 (maintenance), I have so much more flexibility in terms of what I can eat. Sticking with the program for so long, I've learned how my body responds to caloric intake. I know how much I can (and cannot) eat to maintain my target weight. I don't feel constrained anymore. I just have to be responsible and disciplined enough that if I eat unhealthily one day, I compensate for it the next.
