I began the program shortly after my Mom's passing at nearly 95 years of age. She'd taken great care of herself throughout her entire life (excising, keeping her mind sharp and eating properly) resulting in a very full life. My Dad had passed many years early at 82 years of age from the ravages of diabetes, not a pleasant last few years of life. Simply put, it was a wake-up call for me as I was inadvertently following my Dad's path, borderline obese and on pre-diabetes medication. Still on a "sea" food diet, I'd see food and eat what and when I wanted. At 66 years old, the prospect of potentially living an additional 20-30 healthy years with no medication was most attractive.

Lifestyle Building - Losing the weight
How easy following the Ideal Protein protocol was and how quickly the weight began to fall off when I reached ketosis was the most surprising. Today, I take no diabetes medication and my blood sugar registers a healthy level. No longer am I a "good" candidate for diabetes.

I have much greater energy to "go and do" and enjoy making more knowledgeable, intentional decisions on what to eat. Cooking "creatively" has become a passion and trying new things when eating out but still eating wisely has been a blast.
