It was becoming more difficult to perform everyday tasks due to my weight. I couldn't even put my own socks on without my wife's help, much less do the things I enjoyed the most. I couldn't walk up a hill, do minor household tasks, or play golf without becoming overly exhausted. Due to extreme back pain, I would have to sit down and rest for long periods of time. Life just wasn't much fun anymore. I had knee surgery and experienced complications that my doctor told me could have been avoided if I had lost weight before the procedure. My wife had been seeing Delia with Ideal Protein and had great results. She had wanted me to do it for quite some time but I was very skeptical. I was so heavy, it just seemed hopeless. After meeting with Delia, I agreed to try. I knew what was expected of me while on the protocol, I just needed to convince myself I could do it. I knew I needed to change my lifestyle.

Lifestyle Building - Losing the weight
What surprised me the most about my weight loss journey was that I persisted and followed the protocol. As the pounds began to drop off, I was feeling more confident that I could actually do this! Seeing Delia each week was like seeing your best cheerleader. Her smile and encouraging words made the process enjoyable. It wasn't always easy, but you can meet the challenge if it is important.
Lifestyle Living - Keeping the weight off
What I enjoy most since I've lost the weight is that I lead a much healthier lifestyle now. I continue to eat healthily and I have completely eliminated alcohol from my life. I exercise daily and can now walk the golf course instead of riding in the cart! I can stand and perform tasks for endless hours without needing to rest. Since my lifestyle changes, not only is my physical health better, but my mental health has also improved.
