In June, 2010, I received some sobering news from my doctor at my annual physical check up. I knew that I had always had high cholesterol and high blood sugar. Also, since my athletic days of being a professional football player and later as a professional wrestler, I had been consistently 20 – 30 lbs overweight. In the past, whenever I lost weight, I would gain it right back. My doctor told me that my blood sugar was so high that I was one step away from being a Type 2 diabetic. He immediately prescribed Metformin. He said that this was a drug that would “fool my pancreas” into releasing less insulin into my system. He also prescribed a Statin drug to lower my cholesterol. I would have to take them for the rest of my life. My wife, had heard of a protein protocol called IDEAL PROTEIN that would reset my pancreas to adjust the harmful bursts of fat bearing insulin.
"Medically it has been a life saver. More importantly it has been life changing."
Lifestyle Building - Losing the weight
At first I was skeptical, but after only four weeks on the protocol, I had lost my goal weight of 30 lbs, and it was time to re-test my blood. My doctor and I were both surprised and amazed. I was back to being well within the normal ranges for blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure. No more prescriptions.
Lifestyle Living - Keeping the weight off
I truly enjoy my renewed appreciation for a proper diet of vegetables, lean meats, and a good proportions of carbohydrates. Mostly I enjoy the lack of cravings that used to run my life. I also enjoy my increased mobility and a significant reduction of arthritic pain.
