I began the Ideal Protein Protocol on my 66th birthday. I had three primary motivations. The first was to help relieve knee pain. I had three previous surgeries to repair torn cartilage, and had dealt with inflammation in one knee for 8 years, when the other knee became very painful and severely limited what I could do. My second motivator was appearance. I have a passion for horses, and started showing again in recent years. I wanted to look better on my horse. Lastly, I wanted to be more agile. I babysit my now 18 month old granddaughter two days a week. While it wasn’t impossible for me to get up and down from the floor to play with her, it took a lot planning and effort.

I am most surprised by the inches I've lost! Back in 2006 I lost 47 pounds with a different program and was wearing size 14 pants, but with this program I am a smaller size with the same weight loss but this time I burned fat and my body composition has changed and I am loving my size 10 pants!
Lifestyle Living - Keeping the weight off
Before my weight loss I was limited in what I could do because of joint pain but now I am able to do more and have a lot more energy! AND not only do I look better on my horse but my riding has improved! I am more flexible and able to use my legs more effectively. As an unexpected benefit, I am off of my cholesterol medication. I am also certain that my sleep apnea has improved. I am not afraid to get down on the floor and play with my granddaughter and I am sure I am much more fun to play with!
