How it Works

Reset BODY. Reset MIND. Reset POSSIBLE.
With the 3-Phase Ideal Protein Protocol.

Phase 1

WEIGHT LOSS

Reset body to burn fat and lose the weight…
More

Reset BODY to BURN FAT and LOSE THE WEIGHT.

By restricting carbohydrate intake, the Weight Loss Phase is designed to optimize fat loss through ketosis (a safe and natural state in which the body mobilizes stored fat as its alternative energy source). You’ll remain in Phase 1 until you have reached your weight loss goal.

Phase 2

STABILIZATION

Reset mind to maintain a healthy weight and build healthy habits…
More

Reset MIND to MAINTAIN a HEALTHY WEIGHT and build HEALTHY HABITS.

Following weight loss, you’ll be coached to slowly reintroduce carbs and healthy fats, and you’ll receive a unique-to-you Macro Code based on the number of macronutrients you need to help you maintain your new healthy weight and effectively manage hunger.

Phase 3

MAINTENANCE

Reset possible and live your fullest, healthiest, best life yet…
More

Reset POSSIBLE and live your FULLEST, HEALTHIEST, BEST LIFE yet.

For the first 12 months following Stabilization, you will continue to receive education and support from your coach and clinic as part of the Maintenance Phase. Your coach will provide support and guide healthy food choices for life introducing new strategies each visit on nutrition, healthy eating patterns, behavior change, and environment. Your coach continues to help you incorporate your Macro Code to maintain health long-term. You can stay connected to your coach through our app and Wi-Fi scale, incorporating “Tune-ups” as needed.

Featured Recipes

When you have successfully achieved certain milestones with your coach, we encourage you to get creative when it comes to staying on track and reaching your goals. Head to the kitchen with these tasty recipes.

Phase 1 – 3

Rosemary Roasted Pork with Creamy Mushrooms

Featuring: Ideal Protein Mushroom Soup Mix

Ingredients

2 portions of pork tenderloin roast

½ tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp olive oil

Mushrooms:

1 tsp olive oil

4 cups mixed mushrooms, torn into bite sized pieces

1 sprig fresh rosemary

2 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped

2 tsp hot mustard

½ cup fat-free chicken bone broth

2 tbsp Ideal Protein mushroom soup mix

Garnish:

1 sprig parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)

2 handfuls watercress leaves (optional)

Directions

Prep & Cook time: 30 min

Step 1: Preheat oven to 400F.

Step 2: Mix ½ tsp garlic powder, ¼ tsp salt together. Pat pork tenderloin dry and rub with seasoning. Heat an oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat and drizzle in ½ tsp olive oil. Sear pork tenderloin until golden brown on all sides. Place, still in skillet, into the oven. Bake for 10-15 min or until internal temperature reaches 150F. Remove from oven.

Step 3: Remove tenderloin from the skillet and tent with tin foil.

Step 4: Add 1 tsp olive oil to skillet and place over medium heat. Add mushrooms, rosemary sprig, and garlic and sauté for 1 min. Deglaze with a bit of broth, if necessary. Continue cooking until mushrooms are cooked through, about 3 minutes. Add mustard to the skillet.

Step 5: Meanwhile, mix mushroom mix with a little broth. Stir into the mushrooms in the skillet along with the remaining broth. Simmer until thickened, about 1 min.

Step 6: Slice pork tenderloin and serve with mushroom sauce. Serve on a bed of watercress leaves and garnish with parsley.

Phase 1 – 3

Cabbage Dumpling Wonton Soup

Ingredients

8 large leaves napa cabbage

1 portion of shrimp, peeled and deveined, chopped fine or pulsed in a food processor

1 green onion, sliced, green and white parts separated

1 tbsp tamari, divided

½ tsp ground ginger

½ tsp ground garlic powder

1 tsp toasted sesame oil, divided

1 1/2 cup low-fat chicken bone broth

Directions

Cook time: 25 min

Step 1: Fill a medium-sized pot halfway with water. Fit the napa cabbage leaves into the water and bring them to a simmer, pushing the leaves into the water if they float up. Simmer for 2 minutes. Remove carefully, placing them to dry on a tea towel.

Step 2: Mix ground shrimp, white parts of the green onion, ½ tbsp tamari, ground ginger, ground garlic, and ½ tsp sesame oil in a bowl with a wooden spoon.

Step 3: Cut napa leaves into 8 even-sized pieces, cutting 2” of the bottom of each leaf off (most of the white part). Mix ground shrimp mixture into balls and fit them in the middle of each leaf segment. Wrap the leaves as tight as possible without tearing them. Secure them with a toothpick.

Step 4: Meanwhile, bring chicken broth to a simmer. Carefully place each dumpling in the soup and simmer until the won tons are cooked through, about 7 minutes, flipping once.

Step 5: Garnish with remaining greens of the green onion, tamari, sesame oil. Optionally add thin slices of napa cabbage leaves leftover from making the wrappers.

Phase 2 – 3

Moroccan-inspired Beef Stew

Ingredients

1 tsp olive oil

2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced

7.5oz beef round, cubed into 1 “ cubes, pat dry

¼ tsp salt

½ tsp ground cumin

¼ tsp onion powder

¼ tsp cinnamon

¼ tsp ground ginger

¼ tsp ground coriander

2 cup tomatoes, deseeded and chopped

½ cup fat-free beef broth

¼ cup whole green olives, sliced

1 whole lemon, zested

2 handfuls baby spinach

¼ cup cilantro leaves, chopped

¼ cup uncooked quinoa (see note)

1/2 cup fat-free beef broth

Directions

Cook time: 60 min

Step 1: Heat a medium pot over medium-high heat. Add in olive oil and sauté garlic for 30 seconds.

Step 2: Sear beef until browned on all sides. Add in salt, cumin, cinnamon, ginger, and coriander. Stir for 30 seconds.
Step 3: Add in tomatoes, beef broth, olives, lemon zest. Cover and simmer until tender, about 45-60 minutes. If the sauce is too thin, leave the lid ajar to reduce it slightly.

Step 4: Meanwhile, cook the quinoa. Rinse quinoa in cold water in a fine-mesh sieve and drain. Add to a pot with 1/2 cup of broth. Bring to a simmer and keep uncovered for 5 minutes. Cover and continue to cook for 10 minutes. Take off the heat and allow to sit, covered, until ready to serve.

Step 5: Fold in spinach into beef stew. Serve on cooked quinoa and garnish with cilantro and juice from the zested lemons. Optionally, sear lemons cut side down in a non stick pan before juicing them.

Tip: This quantity makes about 1 cup cooked quinoa. It may be difficult to cook a small quantity of quinoa. Scale the recipe for quinoa up and cook 1 cup of cooked quinoa at a time. Measure out ½ cup quinoa once cooked for 17g of net carbs.

FAQs

How does Ideal Protein diet work?
The three phases of the Ideal Protein Protocol are designed to help you set, achieve and maintain your weight loss goals. During the Weight Loss Phase of the Protocol, we limit carbohydrate intake to encourage the body to turn to its fat stores for energy. By eating Ideal Protein foods, the Protocol helps to sustain muscle mass while teaching you how to develop smarter eating habits and lifestyle choices, to help maintain your weight after weight loss is achieved.
What is the cost of Ideal Protein?
In North America, the Ideal Protein Protocol cost on average about $15 a day, which includes the cost of the foods and the supplements. We encourage you to think of the cost of the Protocol as part of your grocery bill. Redirecting average food expenses to different, healthier options often results in the Protocol being neutral in cost. Consultation fees vary from one location to another, depending on the additional services they offer, so feel free to visit many locations around your area.
Can I be on the Protocol if I’m a vegetarian or vegan?
Vegetarians can follow the Ideal Protein Weight Loss Protocol and can consume eggs, fish or tofu during their evening meal for their whole protein. As an alternative, vegetarians can have 2 Ideal Protein foods for dinner in replacement of their whole protein. Ensure you review the ingredient list on all boxes before purchasing them. Strict vegans, who do not consume any animal proteins and animal by-products, such as dairy products, honey and so on, do not qualify to follow the Ideal Protein Weight Loss Protocol due to the many dietary restrictions.
How is the Ideal Protein Weight Loss Protocol different from other protein diets on the market?
The Ideal Protein Weight Loss Protocol addresses weight issues at their source; reducing carbohydrates and fats while ensuring adequate daily protein intake. In other words, the goal is to lose fat, not muscle. While on the Protocol, through personalized coaching, you’re also provided with healthier lifestyle education so that you are empowered to sustain your weight loss results over your life course.
